Julian-Quan Viet Le (LeJKeys)

Piano/Keys/Composer/Producer/Music Director/Arranger/Show Programmer
Julian Le started playing classical piano when he was three and was taught by his wonderful and supportive parents (Chan Le and Minh Ngo), both of whom are graduates from Indiana University's School of Music in Bloomington. He has an older sister (Julia Le) who he loves very much and is also involved with the arts. They all moved to Vietnam for a year when he was 8 where his parents taught him Vietnamese traditional instruments such as the bamboo flute and the Vietnamese monochord. During that time he was also introduced to his first Art Tatum record, the Beatles, and many more genres of music. He graduated in 2012 from UCLA on a full jazz scholarship under Kenny Burrell and James Newton. Recognition for his musicianship includes the "Louis Armstrong" award along with being named "2011 winner of the downbeat 34th annual student music awards for original composition-outstanding college performance." Since graduating, he has been touring/writing/recording/producing/music directing/arranging/programing non stop for artists such as Jhene Aiko, Anderson .Paak, Fisticuffs, Yuna, David Foster, Shafiq Husayn, Judith Hill, Bilal, George Watsky, Parker (DFD), Aditya Prakash and many more. He is also constantly working on his own projects (Le J Collective) and doing freelance production/composition work for tv shows and other various placements. Throughout his life he has been exposed to all sorts of music ranging from European classical/Indian classical/traditional/electronic/funk/hip hop/pop/jazz, literally everything. That in return has molded Julian into the versatile, curious musician he is today, and increased his fascination with the general concept of music as colorful organizations of sounds, and how such organizations affect emotions and their environment. He feels very fortunate to have music as his playground, one with endless possibilities.

His goals include continuing to travel and play music around the world, meeting as many people and great musicians as he can, eating and seeing as much as he can, helping his parents at their teaching studio (Pacific Music Academy in Milpitas), and one day opening a hang out venue spot that features great food, drinks, and live music every night.
